Sacramento is the Farm-to-Fork Capital of the World, where chefs and growers work in harmony to create spectacular seasonal delights. Whether you’re looking for a more casual experience or an unforgettable curated meal, these farm-to-fork restaurants pride themselves on giving guests an authentic taste of the Golden State.

Mulvaney’s B&L

Patrick Mulvaney, owner of Mulvaney’s B&L, championed Sacramento’s Farm-to-Fork movement. They have been working with local farmers and producers since his restaurant opened in 2006. Mulvaney’s regularly showcases the best of seasonal local produce. Offerings include colorful, creative dishes like Pistachio Cheesecake with Candied Rhubarb, Fig Salad with Blue Cheese and Walnuts, and Caprese with Heirloom Tomatoes and Fresh Mozzarella.

Localis

After traveling the world in a death metal band, Chef Christopher Barnum-Dann developed a love for international cuisine. At his Sacramento restaurant, Localis, he utilizes hyper-local ingredients to craft recipes with a global flair. Localis eschews the traditional à la carte menu in favor of a curated ten-course meal. The meal includes specially selected wine (or non-alcoholic cocktail) pairings.

This distinctive approach has garnered widespread acclaim. Since earning its first Michelin star in 2022 (which they are proud to have retained), the Localis team has continued to shine— receiving the prestigious Michelin Sommelier Award in 2025.

Canon

At Canon Restaurant in East Sacramento, every family-style dish and small plate is a love letter to the Golden State. Chef Brad Cecchi collaborates with local growers to source the highest-quality produce. He even cultivates a selection of herbs, fruits, and vegetables in an on-site culinary garden. Both the atmosphere and the food deftly toe the line between upscale and casual – but the quality of the food is impeccable. The folks at Michelin tend to agree – awarding Canon its 6th consecutive Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2025.
